Dr. Taylor has been a Veterinarian for upwards of 25 years. She has been working in the Interlake for the vast majority of her career. She is also the practice owner.

Dr. Meaghan Ballard

Dr. Meaghan Ballard is originally from Winnipeg. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine located in Saskatoon in 2016 and has been working for GVS since. Meaghan has 3 cats named: Temeraire, Tiamat, & Errol who she enjoys spending time with on her days off. Meaghan has always been passionate about animal care and veterinary medicine from a very young age.

Dr. Shapera was born and raised in Winnipeg. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Her passions include emergency medicine and surgery! When she’s not  working, she can be found snuggling her cat Boog or riding her horse Davos!

Amanda A.

RVT & Medical Services Coordinator

Amanda graduated from Red River College in 2019, and has been at our clinic ever since! She has a Cane Corso/Golden Retriever cross named Argo, two black and white tuxedo cats named Onyx and Havoc, and a leopard gecko named Meowsly. Argo is a blood donor with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank and Havoc only has one eye! Her special interests include venipuncture, pet nutrition and large animal medicine. She recently obtained her BLS and ALS certification for animal CPR. Outside of work Amanda loves to go hiking, enjoys travelling and plays indoor soccer.

Amy has been with us at Gimli Veterinary Services for 10 years. You can always find her chatting up a storm and catching up with regulars and getting to know new clients/reps. She is our ‘go to’ when it comes to the medical services we provide at our clinic. When Amy is not in clinic you can find her spending time with family.

Erin graduated from Red River College in 2014, and has worked at GVS since 2015. Erin is passionate about all things feline, as a cat mom herself, with 4 black and white tuxedo cats at home (Cil, Kylo, Onyx and Scarlet). Erin enjoys learning everything she can about cats and aiding in their treatment. Erin has recently adopted a Boxer named Booker who is a new blood donor with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new patients, pet nutrition, phlebotomy, and educating clients to help them keep their pets as happy and healthy as possible.

Emily joined our GVS team in 2022 – One of her favorite things about her job is spending time with dogs, which she is most passionate about, and has an interest in large animal medicine. Emily loves to spend time with her fur children; Bear (a 3-legged cat) and Hailey (a Golden Retriever). In her spare time, she loves to take Hailey on walks and spend time with friends and family.

Katrina has always had a fondness for animals, and it is the fondness that encouraged her to become a veterinary assistant in March of 2021. She loves how each dog, or cat, or worm has their own unique personality, and Katrina brings out the best of those personalities. Having grown up surrounded by pets, Katrina knows the importance that animals bring to peoples’ lives. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending summers in Gimli and Kenora with her friends and family. And when she does, there’s usually a dog or five around – her newest addition is Henry, an adorable Golden Retriever.
